This game is simply amazing. I am lost for words.. I cannot think of a better way to describe this that the best game that has come out in many MANY years!

Blizzard finnally got the key elements of the hack and slash rpg right, I just cannot put it down, really.

Private server?

Are private servers better than the retail version of games?

In some cases they can be, as they are player driven, and not bound to keeping the money rolling in, the majority of the private servers are created so that the players can enjoy the game they want to, they can make custom items, quests, and just any kind of content you can think of. So it is kind of like, taking your favorite game and putting a spin on it.

There are some advantages to trying out private servers, you can test the game before you buy it, which is useful, but most of the big boy mmo's have free trials, but if you want to see how it is at end game, many private servers offer instant max level, worth knowing.

I will caution you though, be aware of servers that are illegitimate, never know when something might harm your computer.

Runescape versus World of Warcraft?

So which one is better?

Any guess?

Neither!

In my opinion, and I have played both, neither one is better than the other. They are too different to be compared!

Runescape in my view is more individual based, you are the lone adventurer, going on your own adventure! Sure there are clans, and you can kill bosses with your friends and now there are clan citadels, but you are still the individual.

WoW is more focused on the entire player base moving through particular movements from within the game, all the players killed the lich king, they may not have experienced it, but it was the.. Main focus.

Wow is more about the collective player base, and Runescape is just you, lol.

They are both very good games, but if you asked me which one I would prefer, I would go with Runescape, simply because I like it better, and I am a hermit anyway :D

I know many people believe that it is a bad thing that people buy currency,
and that it hurts the game, and gives players an unfair advantage.

I am on the fence about this subject, as I think it is both good and bad for the game.

For example...

The united states, has a massive amount of illegal immigrants. These immigrants have jobs, under the table, usually doing work that no one else will do because it is generally hard work, such as farm labor for instance.
The majority of people would demand much higher wages for the work that an illegal immigrant would do for a tiny fraction of the price. The farmers use the illegal workers to be able to make a profit, it isn't because they want to make more money, it is because in order to make any profit they have to.

Now applie that concept to the gaming scene. China for instance, many many people there play video games for low wages, farming the gold or currency, or materials, which ever. It is simply a business in my eyes, one that creates alot of jobs and fills a demand, I mean, are you mad at the gold farmers, or the lazy kids that buy the gold? Think about it here, who is trying to feed their family?

Runescape!

Wait, runescape? what?

Hold on, nah man that was when I was 11 or something.

Well sure! it has been around for 11 years now about.

But, they have a consistent player base, and even though it had a rough patch from 2008-2011( the wilderness, trading, among other things if you are familiar with those updates) it sure has evening out, and last I heard they are completely revamping their combat system.

This is apparently the largest update, they have EVER developed. An action bar that YOU get to assign items and actions to. This is a massive step in the right direction for this game for customization.

If you have not tried this game out, I highly encourage you to, if you are the person that is looking for one of those mmo's that has alot of trade skills to work on, many many items to craft, strongly built on quests, monster hunting, trading, magic, melee, archery, you will very much enjoy this game.

You are an adventurer, and you pretty much get to craft your character exactly as you like it. You can CHOOSE which combat skill to level, so if you want a character that has allot of attack power, but with low defence, this is totally possible.

You should check this game out for sure!

 

What are you looking for in an mmorpg

Good morning, today I want to share my thoughts on what I am personally looking for in an mmorpg.

Now, in case you did not know, mmorpg stands for Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game.

When I look for an mmorpg, I am looking for at least three different classes to chose from, I enjoy rogue like classes and wizard like classes the most, so I tend to look for those two first. I like customization, so I want to be able to really choose and develop my character the way I want to, I want to fight the way I want to.

The next thing I look for, is a wide range of abilities, and talents. Do you get to choose skills to upgrade\unlock upon leveling up? This is one of the most crucial things I look for, this in my eyes is the key factor in customization, is choosing what abilities\spells you have, and how powerful they are. I typically look for at least 2 "talent trees" so, a fire mage and an ice mage, you get the idea.

Attributes and stats

I am not to concerned with stats, but I do prefer to have a large selection, although it isn't really too important to me. I like to choose if I want to dodge, block, crit, faster regen..
